This former print works has been redeveloped by Barratt Homes to provide 130 homes. We appointed the demolition contractor and advised on the remediation of the site. There were serious ground contamination issues resulting from the previous use. To prevent rainwater leaching into the contaminated material and polluting the groundwater, we installed a 95% impermeable layer of bentonite (fine clay) 2 metres underground. We remedied an 8000 m³ shortfall of fill material by importing spoil from another Barratts project in the area.
